Happy Halloween!!!

Indiana Jones and Anakin Skywalker are ready for some candy!!!

Camping at Lake Livingston

We met Grammy and Pop Pop, and all the Fitkins for a weekend of camping.

Our accommodations

The boys were very excited to spend a weekend in the dirt with Matthew.

Even Boudreaux came. Flashbacks from the Griswald's summer vacation?

Lunch in the woods

Real southern girls hanging out in the back of a truck

Grammy baked and brought a cake for Patrick's birthday, and then let him ice it.

Birthday in the back of a truck--only when camping, although I like the idea more and more.

Patrick enjoying his slice of cake.

We explored and went canoeing.

Adam swiped these sticks from some Boy Scouts. I should have posted the pick of him trying to pull them to the camp site. I know I should have fussed at him, but I was so impressed that he could carry these back to our campsite. I love his determination! This is his victory dance--the Boy Scouts were being kinda mean to our kids.

Roasting Marshmallows...we would have some pics of Uncle Matt, but he left to go watch LSU lose to Auburn and ruin their undefeated season.

There was a burn ban, but we still had a small fire. How can you camp without a fire? We weren't too worried, the Boy Scouts were camping next door.

Okay, so our fire started to get a little big and a little smokey, but that didn't stop our fun. Here Uncle Todd is directing story time--each kid had to add to the story. Of course Adam added a "diaper" when it came his turn.

Then came ghost story time. Katie came well prepared! We finished the night with the "Bloody Finger" story.

The boys cozied up in their new sleeping bags. Mom slept on an air mattress!

We all woke early and Uncle Todd started on breakfast. He had this grill for 7 years and just now took it out of the box! Uncle Todd has always been a saver and a sucker for keeping things in their original box.

My only complaint was the bees. They swarmed our trash and table. As you can see one landed in my o.j.

Dining al fresco!

We did have a few conveniences: running water and a shower and potty down the road.

And when Patrick grew tired of camping, he just got in the car to look at his Lego catalog. You have to look past my flash.

I forget how much the Fitkins love their breakfast. The Johnson boys, ate a breakfast bar. Mom held out for the real thing! Notice the coffee maker in the background--another convenience.

And the last and best camping convenience of all: having little boys. I know I should not have posted that! Sorry!

Happy Birthday Patrick

I can't believe this little boy is 6 years old!

He can be the most serious child, and sometimes the most silly. Here he is in a not so silly moment. Dressing up into Star Wars is a serious thing for him. He even asked me to take this picture. Thanks to Jee Jee, he now has a solid black t-shirt; before, he turned a navy shirt with a picture on the front, inside out. He's a sucker for details! Here he is as Anakin Skywalker.

Other serious issues for him are inventing a machine that turns things invisible. He thinks if he can do this, he'll earn enough money to buy the Lego company. He is very fascinated with the interior mechanics of a light saber. He takes school rules very serious, and each morning he rushes inside because he's afraid to be late. Mrs. Galloway told us, that he's a role model for his class, and he's very respectful, obedient, and contributes to discussion. We are so proud of him!

Here he is in a silly moment, along with our friends: Maddy Jane, Owen, Ella, and Cameron.

Hope all your birthday wishes come true! We love you!

Goodbye

I wish I had added this pic to the last post.

Here we are in the Orlando airport waiting to depart. It looks like the boys are clinging to Goofy and refusing to leave. Look at the sign posted nearby. We were too tired to correct them.

Disney World

We had so much in Disney World last year, we decided to go again this year!

In Epcot we ate at Chefs de France, and the first character we spotted was Remy from Ratatouille.

Waiting for the Magic Kingdom to open.

The boys loved studying the maps of all the parks. Adam looks very serious here.

The boys were given pixie dust to toss at the park's opening count down.

The Speedway is probably the boys' favorite ride.

Of all the Disney Characters, this talking and walking trash can named "Push" is probably our favorite. We saw him last year too.

Minnie's kitchen oven is one of Adam's favorite things in all of Disney World. He could not wait to get back, push the button, and watch her cake rise.

Patrick and Dad rode Thunder Mountain while Adam and I waited.

The Army Men from Toy Story.

The Hollywood Studios Mickey

Epcot

Patrick was very excited to get his passport to all the different countries. Here we are in Canada; it was Patrick's idea to stop here and take a picture!

We had another magical week in Disney World...I wonder where we'll go next???
