Patrick Graduates
Patrick graduated from Sonshine Kids preschool! Ms. Janice and Ms. Gayle were his teachers this year, and in the fall he'll be going to kindergarten at Wellington Elementary.
God is tired
We had a really busy weekend with Adam's party and the end of preschool. We are all tired, but obviously God is really tired, or so Adam says...
Today we were running errands and I mentioned to the boys that I would kinda like to have another baby. And both boys instantly say, "No!"
So when I ask why, Adam replies, "Because it's illegal."
"Illegal?" I ask.
"Yes, mom! It's illegal, because God is really tired of making babies!"
So I guess I'm not the only one tired!

The Airplane
This has been big news around the block and around the preschool circuit...Dad built an airplane in our backyard!!!
It is still not finished, but will be very soon, just in time for our Indiana Jones Birthday party for Adam. Here's how the airplane came to fruition...
The other day, the boys were watching the few scenes we allow them to watch from Indiana Jones. One of the boys just casually asked, "Hey Dad, can we build an airplane in the backyard?" And Chris said, "Sure!!!"
"What???" that was my thought. But here it is, the Airplane!
Dragon Doors
Have you seen the movie, How to Train Your Dragon? Don't these doors look like doors the dragons came out of? Dad loves to reenact movies!
Art Sale
Owen, Patrick's friend, had this clever idea to have an art sale. Each piece of art was 25 cents, and the buyer received a complimentary brownie with their purchase. The art sale was hit, and hopefully we'll be hosting one soon on our street.
Finally!
For Easter this year, the bunny brought the boys nice, expensive kites. And unfortunately, we could not get them up in the air. So the other day, we bought one at the store for $2.99, and what do you know...those kites were up in the air in an instant!
The Thumb Guard
Since Patrick will be going to kindergarten in the fall, he has decided that it's time to give up sucking his thumb. So we've been sleeping with the Thumb Guard. Big News in our house!
A Mommy Moment
The other day I had a Mommy Moment. Owen, Patrick's best friend, called and asked him to come and play. A few minutes later, I came downstairs and found him waiting at the front door. When Janelle, drove up he just said bye, opened the door, and walked out to the car all by himself.
But wait...shouldn't I hold your hand? shouldn't I strap you in? shouldn't I being doing something? Don't you need your mommy? These thoughts were running through my mind.
It was one of those moments when you realize your kids are growing up and growing away. I was very proud but a little sad.
GROSS!
Okay, I just had to document this moment and I apologize. The other day, I was walking through the house putting up laundry, when I saw this strange thing stuck to the wall. This strange thing was about 3 feet from the floor, so I knew it was put there by little hands. Upon closer examination, I realized what it was, a boogger! GROSS! But I still went and got the camera!
Spying on Adam
This is not the greatest picture, because I took it from the laundry room window. Adam did not know I was watching. And he was just about to jump off the wall before I could catch him in action. But here is what he was doing...
He likes to take his tennis racket, stand up on the retaining wall, and pretend to play guitar. He sings and dances, while he plays his one-man band routine. He does this often, and if he sees you watching him, he gets really embarrassed and stops.
I love when he does this, and I tried my hardest to catch a picture before this phase of his childhood passes. Rock on, Adam!
Breaking the Bank
A few weeks ago we broke the banks! The boys have been asking for more Legos, so we decided to break the piggy banks and have a little lesson on finances. 1/3 for tithing, 1/3 for saving, and 1/3 for spending.
Patrick used his spending money to buy the Lego City Police Helicopter and a Lego City Racer. Adam used his spending money to buy Buzz, Woody, and the rocket from Toy Story.
Skylar
This is Skylar, our babysitter. She comes just about every other Saturday night, and our boys adore her. She always brings games and movies. She is the very best! We love you, Skylar!
Happy 4th Birthday Adam
Today was Adam's birthay. He turned 4 years old, and it seems just like yesterday he was our baby! We have a tradition in our family, where you wake up with a greeting from the "Birthday Lion." At first Adam was lost for words and just stood and stared at the lion. But as soon as he sat down for breakfast he asked for his present. Adam's big party will be this weekend, but today we celebrated with lunch at Pei Wei. Adam said he picked Pei Wei, so that Mommy could order that round thing she likes--lettuce wraps. Adam is always thinking of others. Happy Birthday!
