Slumber Party

The other night, Owen spent the night. His mom would be having her baby early in the morning. So he came and stayed. Dad didn't want Adam to feel left out, so he let Adam sleep in the same room as Patrick and Owen.

Before I went to bed, I checked on all three boys, and here's what I saw...a sea of books, three sleeping boys, and a totally empty book shelf. I think Adam is the culprit!

Playing Hooky

Summer is here, and we are running the roads like crazy. It's swim camp, art camp, soccer tots, library time, or going to the gym. So last night when I was bathing Adam, he asked if tomorrow we could built a pirate ship out of a shampoo bottle. I answered, "Well maybe after art camp, swim camp, and the library." He immediately started to cry! I thought we might be a little too busy.

So this morning when the boys woke up, I announced that we were playing HOOKY today! And that we would stay home and make pirate ships from shampoo bottles!

And here they are. I had no idea how we would do this. But all we needed were some shampoo bottles, wine corks, skewers, and fabric.

And they floated!

What's it like to be fat?

The other day Adam was being a little naughty, so he was sent to his room. After his 5 minutes were up and I called him to come down, he wouldn't, so I knew he was up to something. When I went in his room this is what he was doing...

He said he wanted to know what it was like to be fat!

Adam's Indiana Jones Party VIV

Happy Birthday to our little Indiana Jones!

We had lots of fun planning and doing this party. At the last minute Adam actually asked if we could invite Harrison Ford. We should have, I think he would have enjoyed himself!

Adam's Indiana Jones Party VI

All the kids rushed inside the airplane to find the treasure, but there was only a booby trap and an empty box full of clues.

The last and final clue said,

The bad guys are not very smart. They took the wrong box, so the treasure must still be inside the airport hangar!

The airport hangar was inside our garage, and there in all it's glory was the stolen golden ark.

Indiana had promised his friends he would share the treasure...here are the kids stashing whatever goodies they could fit in their satchels. Ring pops, golden necklaces, diamonds, Tootsie rolls, gold coins, gold cups and candlesticks...better than a pinata!

Happy Birthday Adam!

Our next clue was

The bad guys were spotted in the snake pit. One guy was bitten by a snake and dropped a clue.

So Dr. Jones and his friends ran to the snake pit to find their next clue.

No Indiana Jones adventure is complete without snakes!

The next clue:

The bad guys headed to crocodile creek to get away by boat. But one guy was eaten by a crocodile and dropped a clue.

Our creek was a baby pool filled with clues guarded by an inflatable croc!

The next clue:

The bad guys tried to get away by plane, but they crashed. The treasure must still be inside the plane!

Adam's Indiana Jones Party III

Every Indiana Jones party needs an adventure...so here is where ours began!
I gathered up all the kids for a group picture. And as I was snapping away, two bad guys dressed in black ran right through our party and stole our golden ark! Thankfully, all of Indy's friends were there to help him track down the bad guys and the stolen treasure.

Each kid was given a satchel and their first clue:

The bad guys were seen headed to the mummy gallery. But they got scared and left, but not before they dropped a clue

Here we are in the mummy gallery. The kids had to wrap themselves up as mummies to find their next clue.

The airplane was finished just in time for the party. And Patrick insisted that we make a sign for the door that said
"Lao Che's Air Freight"
Lao Che is one of the bad guys from Indiana Jones.

Cousin Owen came all the way from Shreveport!

And baby Heidi too!

The boys and I had lots of fun preparing for the party. We made vines from paper bags and hung rubber snakes from the trees. I wish I had gotten a better pic. Here is Aunt Lara, Dad, Mark Bigelow and Maddy Jane.

Adam's Indiana Jones Party I

A few weekends ago we celebrated Adam's 4th birthday.

The theme for the party was Indiana Jones, and you can see the golden ark that we made for the party. Jee Jee came and brought Adam a costume.

Grammy and Pop Pop came and brought Adam a new bike.
